A month ago, I was sooo on a roll with blog posts. November was awesome for me and my blog and I was not only posting frequently, but thoroughly, and quality-ily. Quailityishful. So anyway then December everything started getting busy and crazy, however I FINALLY got around to editing these two shoots that I did (there was like a trillion pics to edit) and so now I can totally actually begin this journey that is Culture Shock, which is a half-formed idea in my head that’s about to florish. It’s derived of two equal parts, My Prerogative and Can’t Pin Me Down. Let’s see how I grow, live, create, slay and laugh at myself. After finishing this I’m actually extremely proud, and expression is best served passionately.
When I first heard Lights’ song Ice in like 2009 or 2010, I fell in love. I watched the music video all the time, and totally fell in love with this beautiful creature that is Lights. But somehow she kind of fell off my radar until March 2013 when I found out she was playing an acoustic show here in Seattle so I quickly ordered her most recent album from the time (Siberia Acoustic) and fell IN LOVE with it! I loved her acoustics even more than her electro-pops! So I ordered all her discography and from then on she was (and is) on of my all-time favorites. And now I wanna talk a little bit about her album Skin&Earth which ranked as my #3 favorite album of the year 2017 (it literally won an award I made up, I’ll post about that next month) I got this cool pre-order bundle and fell in love with the album and blah blah blah…Wasn’t listening to it as much but yesterday I was trying to figure out what album to play while I got ready and shot my outfit, and I instantly knew it had to be Skin&Earth. This album brought up my spirits, I was reminded of why I love it so much, and it influenced this shoot in even some quirky ways. So a main chunk of this post is about this album and how amazing it is and it’s inspiration to me, but the other parts are some other really cool stuff including Danon taking me to the Sky View of the Columbia Center in Seattle, the tallest building on the west coast or something! But yeah there’s the September bundle of Lights merch I got that I scattered throughout this post, then there’s my Kicks photoshoot which is the like…main shoot and also inspired and broken-down by each song of this album, info on all my outfit and makeup deets, and of course wrapped up every little part with a sprinkle of Skin&Earth. By the way, this awesome black top and jeans are both from Stitchfix, sign up to get your curated box for whenever you want a fix!
1, 2, 3, 4… I’ve got too many people got left to prove wrong. – (track 1, Bastards)
This has been building up since this album’s release day. Like I literally have stuff piled in my computer’s lil memory bank dating mid-September just for this post. This is a blog post about Rainbow and how it completely changed and saved my life, and how I live my life everyday with the lessons and empowerment I’ve taken from this woman. I think I’m going to divide it up by Rainbow-album-song-increments, but also just showing you guys the Rainbow pre-order bundle I got along with other Rainbow merch and concert Rainbow merch too. So yeah lots of Rainbow shit. I’m both incredibly proud and also fully prepared to walk you through my world of Rainbow that I’ve created from the one and only, my favorite album of the year, and of all time. The most moving, the most inspirational, the most empowering, and the strongest fucking woman I know of.
Once upon a time, Demi Lovato dropped a collection with athletic-wear’s uprising star, Fabletics (co-founded by Kate Hudson). I think it’s a lot of because Demi isn’t conventionally skinny but she is really fit and amazing in the gym & other athletic-type places, and so the collection featured lots of awesome Demi-related things with wordss like “Confident”, “Unbroken”, etc from her song lyrics. It was really cool, lots of t-shirts tied up and leggings with interesting patterns, and by the time I discovered this collection IT WAS ALMOST COMPLETELY sold out. AHhhh I was soooo sad! Because this is like, merch and gym clothes in the same outfit! MADE FOR ME. But later Fabletics announced that since everyone was requesting like crazy that they bring some Demi stuff back, Fabletics did one better-they dropped a SECOND Demi collection! These things are all legit merchandise because it says “Demi Fabletics Lovato” on the removable tag and on all the clothing tags. It’s so cool and they totally re-upped on their photoshoots for the collection, Demi SLAYED in all of them! I’m not sure if Demi did much designing for this collection or if it’s just her name on it, but either way, I’m SO sold.
And now, ladies and gentlemen and cats and animals, I’ll show you the 4 outfits I bought from Demi’s line! The thing about Fabletics is they sell things by the outfit, like you can buy things individually but their whole thing is to have cool gym outfits. So I bought 4 outfits and also one pair of leggings (the top was sold out :(((((( I didn’t include this in my photoshoots) and started with the first photoshoot on September 9th. A month later, I’m here ready to share it all with you. Continue reading!
This was almost 2 weeks ago but I’m finally getting around to blogging about it! So my friend Syerra and I did this really cool shoot wearing cool things in the middle of the woods, and it was super fun to put together. Finally just edited all the pictures, now I can show you the funny shoot and the awesome outfits we put together. We totally gotta do a sequel to this. My hair actually looked kind of cute! This is before I got it cut and I’m still getting used to my haircut. Now this is what I call Urban Glam.
One thing that’s great about Zoey is she actually wanted to do a shoot like this with me, with this shirt that I had and thought would look AMAZING on her. So we put the shirt on her and it looks BOMB, I was totally right. I shot my outfit with that shirt exactly a year ago from this shoot, to the day. So it’s a cool evolution. But all of our outfits were cute as hell! So the names of the shoots are Hustlers and Posh. I guess you’ll find out why. This shoot was surprisingly fun and turned out really well!
So excited to show you guys the 2 looks (4 outfits) shoot we created! Continue reading!
And again, thank you so much for everything, miss Zoey the Greatest.
Lady Gaga is one of my top 5 most important fashion influence of mine. Back when I was 13 I loved and studied Gaga’s style, and when I was 14 it turned to Avril Lavigne and her Abbey Dawn styles, etc I totally followed a lot of these cool people and incorporated their stuff into my work! I love to share that. This is an inspired set of looks, got lots to say about these trends! August is so damn hot but I was able to wear some cute outfits anyway.
Once upon a time, I attended one of thee best shows of my entire life. The Circus Starring Britney Spears, on April 9th 2009 in Tacoma (/Seattle). I remember getting into the merch line and not being able to see a thing over all the tall people in front of me, so my mom is like “Here wait I have an idea” so she took a picture with her cute little handheld camera, of the merch display. I was able to zoom in on the camera and look through the different shirts and stuff, and the shirt that really caught my eye was the one that said You Want a Piece of Me? I LOVED IT. But my mom said it was inapropriate. I’m like, mom come on you know her song! And my mom is like “Well yeah we know Britney, but that’s not how other people would see it.” Made me kinda sad, but I settled on a super angelic looking top along with temporary tattoos and a majestic-ass poster. We got this big brown bag that had the tour’s promotional logo on it but after keeping it for like a year I threw it out. 😦 But, years later, I was able to not only keep the rest of this merch (well I kept 2/3 of the tattoos) but I was able to acquire other merch from the tour, like two of the different tour programs, the set of 3 buttons, the pack of playing cards, and the B hat logo choker. And 8 years later, the shirt I bought still fits me. Yep, I’ve kept it all these years. And so I decided it was about time I shot it.
Once upon a time, I was in the fairy tale city of New York, touring Teen Vogue and Conde Nast. I took a goodie bag on the way out and the first thing I opened up to was this little mini pouch of 3 mini Dior brushes. I was so shocked and excited when I saw the “Dior” name on it and a lot of the goodies were lame but a lot of them were really fun. This was the first Dior thing I ever owned. I keep it in my makeup bag for on the go. The second thing I ever owned from Dior was a little mini of Poison Girl perfume. And then for some reason I ended up falling in love with the brand…
Hello loves. On the 20th I got to see Portugal. The Man again in concert! Last time I saw them was when they toured with Cage the Elephant. They were great and it was beautiful. I shot my outfit after I got home from the concert so you bet my makeup was half worn off and I was tired af but I really liked the outfit so I wanted to capture it. I went to the concert and bought the hat and then wore it for the duration of the night and thought it looked SO awesome with my Linkin Park shirt and Guess Jeans. Then there’s the merch shirt I bought, a gorgeous white art piece. Let’s check them out.
